A good Akali is extremely hard to counter. As already said only a couple champs can beat her in lane (garen, lee sin) but there are other champs that you can play passive and just farm.

All men can see these tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved.

I have yet to play an Akali that can beat my Talon. Not too sure if the rest of the community agrees, but i believe Talon is a good counter as well.

Lee Sin is the #1 counter to her, throughout the entire game.

Then comes Garen and Renekton outdamaging her greatly while being tanky enough to not fall to her burst, Talon is a tad stronger than Akali but can fall if he plays bad, and Yorick is just Yorick and owns basically as good as any toplaner.

I usually pick Garen as a counter for Akali.

The long silence, the spin just destroys akali. Get an early lvl 2 gank, and akali is shutdown for a while
