vs Dignitas - Testing the Waters
[ Match Page ] [ Stats Page ]

Counter Logic Gaming started off the Summer Split with a signature methodical win against Dignitas. Doublelift played an unsignature Ashe that was key in setting up multiple picks, that led to objectives, and eventually victory. The game began slow and relatively uneventful until a beautiful Enchanted Crystal Arrow from Doublelift setup Dignitas' CoreJJ to be the victim for a first blood in favor of CLG. Not wanting to slow down the pace with a Lee Sin that could eventually get out-scaled, five minutes later another arrow from Doublelift found Shiphtur that led to a kill and a turret mid-lane. As hard as Dignitas tried, they could not get down a single turret. CLG continually pressured Dignitas through superior ward coverage and the threat of picks.

vs Team Impulse - Teamwork

Team Impulse, known for their scrappy team fights and offensive beat - kept the team on its toes initially. But stellar kiting and re-engaging allowed CLG to edge out in every teamfight TiP brought to the table. There seemed to be some miscommunication during an early team fight. CLG took an advantage initially, but Impact managed to take two quick kills off a Homeguard-Teleport even though he teleported several seconds after ZionSpartan. That didn't stop ZionSpartan from staking his claim as one of the best top-laners in the NA LCS as he took advantage of Impact's aggressive play and turned it into a solo-kill against a World Champion top-laner. It seemed as though that kill set off CLG and they never looked back. Down 2k gold, CLG played TiP at their own game, pressed, and won the fights they needed to end the game with an 8k gold lead.
