LAS VEGAS, June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- eSports Management Group, LLC (eMG) today announces the launch of a global, full service management organization that provides exclusive services to professional gamers. eMG's primary services include professional gamer representation, marketing, sales, event management and corporate consulting.

The eSports industry has experienced rapid growth as streams of live matches are receiving record setting viewership, players are reaching celebrity status, and live events are selling out. With this explosion of user and consumer interest, major sponsors are recognizing the value associated with marketing and advertising within the eSports industry. To best capitalize on this interest, eMG will leverage years of proven agency deal-making experience to create new revenue streams for our clients.

eMG is founded by Brian Balsbaugh, who since 1998 has negotiated thousands of sponsorships in golf and poker. "There are tremendous similarities to the current eSports industry and poker in 2003. Professional gamers are independent contractors who travel around the world playing in tournaments -- exactly the same as professional golfers and poker players. We know the formula on how to maximize their value and look forward to bringing our clients new opportunities," said Balsbaugh.

eMG also announces today the signing of Nick "Tasteless" Plott to a management agreement for worldwide management and marketing representation across all major platforms, including sponsorship and licensing. Plott is arguably the most popular caster in all of eSports and has a massive following both online and at live
events. "I am thrilled and honored to be picked up by eMG. I feel this is the next big step in my career, and I believe our partnership will help expand the awareness of eSports. I would like to thank eMG for giving me this opportunity and I look forward to the future," said Plott.

Additionally, eMG announces the signing of Counter Logic Gaming (CLG), the worlds #1 ranked League of Legends team. "With the exponential growth and overall buzz surrounding the game League of Legends, the opportunity to work with a fantastic organization like Counter Logic Gaming is a huge honor. Our goal is to
greatly expand the business opportunities available to their team," said Balsbaugh.

"I would like to thank eMG on behalf of everyone at Counter Logic Gaming. CLG is completely committed to eSports and we're confident that eMG brings the expertise and passion needed to help promote our wish to support the wider development of eSports. We look forward to building a strong partnership with eMG and that our success will inspire others to follow our lead", said Helen Georgalidis CEO, Counter Logic Gaming.

eMG has also signed eSports master of ceremonies and top host Joshua "Clutch" Gray along with first person shooter veterans, Scott "Gandhi" Lussier, Alex "Goldenboy" Mendez, and Danish "Dmaq" Maqbool. Also on the eMG team is Co-Founder Tobias Sherman, a respected eSports figure. Sherman brings to eMG
great relationships and an experienced view of the eSports landscape.

Yeah... Interesting how everyone on (also on Reddit) focuses on this issue. It's called marketing. Plus, the guys on Reddit might have a point when they say taken the circuit points for .NA and .EU together they are number one overall. Anyway, that definitely is not the thing to focus on here...

They did not fire me, lol. I've been partnered with Hotshot for some time, he needs someone to step in represent him, so he can focus on doing what he does best.

I don't think esports (specifically LOL) is exactly how poker is. This "magic formula" sounds like a fair shot of overconfidence and it will be interesting to see how far this kind of attitude is really going to get them...

Contrats to CLG though I guess, hope it's not a boarding pass for a sinking ship is all, you guys were doing great things for the scene beforehand so I hope you didn't hand off your rights or anything silly.
