A New Member of the CLG Family
For the past year, Counter Logic Gaming has delved into Halo, CS:GO, and Smash - rapidly expanding beyond the League of Legends team where everything started. Esports has gone a long way in the past five years as crowds are getting larger, prize pools have been getting bigger, and developers have been putting more resources into making their game a better spectator sport. Call of Duty has been no exception to this growth. The players are furiously competitive, the games are electrifying, and there are millions of Call of Duty fans playing and watching all over the world. We see and admire the same passion in competitive Call of Duty that drives all esports.
Today, we are proud to announce Counter Logic Gaming's new Call of Duty team:
Anthony "Methodz" Zinni | Slayer
Michael "Blfire" Glushenok | Anchor/Slayer
Aaron "CMPLX" Vetelino | Objective
Tyler "FeLony" Johnson | Support
Meet the Players
This weekend, the team will be competing to qualify for the Pro Division of the Call of Duty World League. The Call of Duty World League is the new competitive league that will feature regular matches amongst the top CoD teams across three regions: North America, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand. Top placement in the Pro Division will allow for qualification into the World Championship. Teams outside of the Pro Division will also have a chance to qualify into the World Championship by earning World League points in sanctioned Challenge Division online tournaments. The prize pool for this season will total more than $3 million.
The team has been bootcamping at the CLG compound and has been working hard for the qualifiers this weekend. We are eager to see this young lineup compete in the next few days and excited to enter the well established competitive Call of Duty scene. Please give a warm welcome to the newest members of the CLG family.
The team and I are super excited to be representing CLG for the 2016 season. We're beyond grateful for the opportunity and we hope to bring in some event wins for all of the CLG fans.
- Anthony "Methodz" Zinni, Captain
