New Changes

HCS Season 2 had it's ups and downs, but the CLG Halo team pulled through in the end finishing strong once again in the HCS Season 2 Finals. It was an intense series and tournament - the only two series that we lost were to our Halo rivals, Evil Geniuses, in the winner's bracket and the grand finals. It would mark the last major tournament played on Halo 2: Anniversary. The upcoming Halo World Championships will be played on Halo 5: Guardians. The game has introduced new mechanics, maps, and styles of gameplay. We’re excited to see Halo’s latest iteration.

With every new game comes changes necessary to adapt to as a team. To keep up with these changes we are parting ways with Scottie “Cloud” Holste. Ultimately this decision was made due to the differences in playstyle and disagreements on the approach to the new game. We want to thank Cloud for his time on CLG in the past several months. The team would not have made it so far last season without him.

After some time searching and coming to a decision, CLG is pleased to announce and welcome Bradley "Frosty" Bergstrom to the CLG Halo team. Frosty is still relatively new to the competitive Halo scene, but has shown incredible raw talent at the age of 18. His first LAN event was UGC St. Louis 2015 at the start of this year. Since then he's helped his teams with two top eight finishes and a first place finish in major LAN tournaments. The team is eager to play with him and we believe that he will fit right alongside of and develop as a talent with the help of Halo veterans Ogre 2, Royal 2, and Snakebite.

"Frosty is a young player who has shown ridiculous dedication thus far in Halo 5, which is something we feel we need.  He also has a great attitude and has proven he has the skill to be one of the best in this game."

Competitive Halo is one of the oldest established esports. With every version of Halo there have always been new stars rising up for the challenge. Ogre 2 is one of the greatest players ever in competitive Halo. Royal 2 and Snakebite emerged as rising stars in Halo: Reach and cemented their stardom in the past year of Halo: MCC. Frosty has the skills and attitude to be next in line.

CLG and our Halo team are looking forward to a new year with Halo 5: Guardians!
