On December 28th, 2012, Aphromoo joined Counter Logic Gaming and started a chapter of CLG that we will never forget. After five years, that chapter of CLG will sadly come to an end. Aphromoo was a key figure in CLG and one of the longest tenured players in LCS history.
When Aphromoo first came to CLG, he took a chance and joined as a support player, even though he was already a well-known AD carry. He took over the role from Chauster, who at the time was considered one of the best bot-lane duos in the world with Doublelift. He immediately synergized with Doublelift and in the coming years, formed the beloved duo known as Rush Hour. Aphromoo became one of the new stars in this generation of CLG and an all-time great support player.
Aphromoo was our leader and shot caller. It took several splits, but we are happy to have experienced two back-to-back LCS Championship wins with him at the helm. His leadership was exemplified when he won those championships with two very different rosters - and two rookies in Huhi and Stixxay at the time.
We want to thank Aphromoo for being a part of CLG all these years. It has been a truly magical journey of both ups and downs - but we wouldn’t have had it any other way. All stories come to an end however. We know that he will continue his legacy, make plays, and be the leader he has always been in the future. To all our CLG fans, we hope you join us in wishing Aphromoo well on to his new journey.
"It's been a long road Zaq and I have walked together, and I'm sad to say that our journey ends here. He's a really good friend and I learned a lot from him from the time I was a remote analyst and grew with him and CLG to where I am now at Head Coach. It's been a fast three years and I'm so happy to have accomplished so much with him. I'll always cherish the moments we've had together, the good and the bad. I wish him the best of luck on whatever team he joins next split."
- Tony "Zikz" Gray, Head Coach
“Being a part of CLG has been an incredible experience and one that I will never forget. So much has happened in these past five years that has made me the player that I am today. I learned how to be a leader, teammate, and friend to CLG players both past and present. Thank you CLG and all the CLG fans for sharing those experiences with me: two NA LCS Championships, two Worlds appearances, and five years of competing on the Rift. I believe that the next step in my career will be just as exciting, this time with CLG as an opponent - and I’ll be there to win. Support is so EASY!”
