I've read things about what an awful community LoL has. What game have you been playing? When you avoid the troll threads that people make (and trolls exist everywhere on the internet. And in the Senate) you have one of the greatest communities ever. You have artwork, stories, thoughtful discussions, and an extremely supportive community. For example, if I made a thread saying "What runes should I get for AD Shaco" In less than minutes I will have 6 different pages optimized for 4 different playstyles. If I'm unlucky I'll have somebody say "AD Shaco is bad don't play him," but he'll be largely ignored, and people will continue the thread. And this troll is the exception, not the norm.

To that I say, Way to go community! Keep up the good work.

+1 to you sir! I agree there are always issues in any community, internet-wise or anywhere in the world. There are always people of varying temperament and personality all over, bringing their thoughts and emotions to the table. It's a fact of life. Running across or encountering the unpleasant is unavoidable.

However, despite how unavoidable the.. unavoidable is.. unable to be avoided.. what it comes down to is that it's up to each of us to make a concentrated effort to be calm, cool, and collected in any discussion, spirited or casual.

Emotions can and will run high, and sometimes people rage. But do you know what disarms rage completely? Politeness, humor, respect, and positivity in general annihilates rage. Rage, anger and negativity that sometimes run rampant on the internet in various mediums are fueled by responses that may simply provide more negativity. Rage begets rage.

Diffusing by ignoring, or even respecting a person who is being negative works in amazing ways. The key is to not fall victim. When you feel the gravity of an emotional situation making you want to provide an emotional response that may just add fuel to the fire, resist. It will make you feel much better and it will have let the other person have their burst. Both of you can move on to happier things!

I as well have noticed some welcome changes to the community. I feel things getting better all the time, but that's because people themselves are making the right choices to change the way they respond. People can only change themselves and by doing so they can make an enormous impact on the world.

Gotta hand it to MJ on this one: "If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make that change."
