And we have absolutely no info about upcoming features whatsoever.

    This is very disappointing.

In fact, I demand some news about upcoming features!

Bump this thread so RIOT notices it!

They always seem to be so apologetic and afraid of any minimal backlash that the recent excuse is that people form expectations and get upset by delays but sadly this is like treating people like children since any reasonable adult should just be informed and then if things change be informed of the change / delay. In other words they don't trust us not to rage and minimal interaction suits the EU boards where they don't post much so that is probably why this no information approach has taken precedence.

On the NA boards if you ask, you generally get the info and if you can't get the info at least they come on to joke about it and tell you it has to be kept under wraps but on EU it's generally a frank, we will not discuss that.
This is because when we do tease features people tend to go haywire for them and when you have as many players as we do they can easily piece together every little thing from an ounce of information like the ultimate crowd sourcing robot.

We have been talking about how we can share things with you, but we have to be careful because if features we mention don't arrive shortly after we've opened our mouths the forums will descend into anarchy as people start questioning the existence of said feature, the timeline of said feature, and their own quantitative position in the universe.

We know that it's something you guys want, and we really want to share things, but there's some real risks that it could be more annoying for you (we've seen it happen many times, Support for example was mentioned in December and some people have called us liars every week since) and we want to limit that.

This is what we actually did though, we said that it was close, then that it was still being worked on, and then even that it wouldn't be the next Champion but likely after that.

Unfortunately that information doesn't spread everywhere so some may be in possession of more information than others. We're actively looking at how we can make such knowledge better spread.

It isn't even a pure NA issue as information there isn't seen by everybody either, it's a matter of considering how best to provide info without making expectations on time high. We want to give you the information we can, we don't want to start a cycle of discussion that leads to disappointment when other things come out first.

I can completely sympathise with player thoughts here, I've been caught watching countdown clocks in the past with near fervour and get that need for knowledge now that builds up excitement as a player.

I agree people tend to go haywire, but that's because they love the game and want to be included and feel excited about knowing what is about to come...

.. I believe giving a simple deadline, and then HEAVILY stressing that that deadline is open to change and is not a definite date then people would be okay with this...
We totally get that, it's the thing that drives us most of all. When there's something we can improve we hate to see players frustrated by it as we work on making it better, especially if we're doing that because we know that you'd be excited to see what's coming. It makes things exciting for you and we get a great buzz from it.

However the second line never works out that way, we've pretty much carved TO BE ANNOUNCED into the moon using ultra neon lasers in the past, but some people may not look upwards and just hear the rumours of it. Then the questions come, and once they start they don't stop because people will miss the answers.

Dates are always considered the most holy of things in this industry, if you miss something by a few hours then society collapses and we all end up fighting for survival in a futuristic hellscape populated by mutated biker yordles and people with names like Ragnarok Hellborn-Majestic. Which is pretty intense.

People don't remember when things come late but they do remember when they're good. They also remember when they booked days off work for specific events and they didn't happen.

It's definitely something we're aware of, and share your concerns about.
