Well, stone smoke PORTER is actually pretty good and very much worth drinking... but...

It changes from time to time... Today, I'll go with:
Franziskaner Hefe-weisse
Young's Chocolate Stout (I'm liking it less than I used to, but not really sure waht my favorite porter is now. I just tend to order porters when I have a narrow selection at a restaurant)
Flat Tire Amber

I am looking for a triple I really like. I usually just end up trying random ones sometimes and liking them, but don't have a staple.

I used to run a beer blog if you wanna sift through some old reviews, though I usually scour beeradvocate myself. Off the top of my head, the best is Tripel Karmeliet. It's ridiculous. I mean, flavour town in your mouth like Ken Griff Jr. on the Simpsons. At the bar we make young's and well's banana bread 50/50. Chocolate banana beer.

As for hefe's you really need to drink Weihenstephaner if you haven't yet. Franzikaner is good, Weihen, imo, is better.

If you wanna try something crazy, Try a Chili Porter.

Agree on Weihen, but it's less ubiquitously available. One of the random restaurants by our office has it though, and I sometimes order it there.

Not that into Chili porters, but they are nice. I like to use porter to cut through spicy fries or burgers or whatever, so usually not looking to double spice. Maybe a good option for pasta.

Favorite wineries presently are central coast -- Chateau Margene for higher end, Dover Canyon for middle high. Both are great and tremendously cost effective compared to Napa, which I find to be overpriced in pretty much every situation. Napa has great wines, but a lot of other places in California do as well.

Yes indeed. I haven't tried CM's Pinot release this year yet, but it's typically pro. The 2008 Grenache opened pretty well.

That's a good mass market brown ale and a good choice. If you like that, you should try some of the other options you can find in larger stores, like Lost Coast Downtown Brown.
