Riot's mission is to be the most player-focused company in the world. League of Legends has grown from an idea to a worldwide phenomenon at a pace that's both thrilling and humbling. Our player base is now several million strong and spans over a dozen countries. Unfortunately, this has garnered us some extra attention from cyber bullies. Some of which has been detrimental to your gaming experience.
You've probably heard rumors of the DDoS attacks that we've been experiencing. Unfortunately, these rumors have been a reality, and are a big part of why our service has been suffering. We've been working around the clock to maintain stability, but the malicious nature of our internet assailants have made that difficult.
In any case, we understand that the service that we've been providing you has been unacceptable and we will not rest until we provide the phenomenal service that you all deserve. So to thank you for your patience during this period, we're happy to provide the following:
- 550 RP to every summoner who has logged in between 12:00 a.m. CEST on June 1st, 2011 and 11:59 p.m. CEST on June 23rd, 2011
- Leaver amnesty from games going back to June 1st. Many disconnections weren't your fault, and we don't want unintended leaves to reflect negatively on you.
We know that the best form of compensation we could provide you with is consistently stable access to League of Legends, but as we strive to make that a reality, we want to give you this as a token of our appreciation for your patience and support. Also know that a long-term fix to these stability issues is on the horizon, and we'll have more information regarding these coming changes in the near term.
In the meantime, thank you for your support, your passion, and your patience.#11 year, 11 months ago -

We're going to be starting the script tomorrow morning and it should run for the next 5-7 days. #31 year, 11 months ago -
Marketing ManagerHave no fear Summoner, the Viking Tryndamere skin from Dreamhack will be available in Store tomorrow and will be a permanent addition to our skins line up so the next time you are able to login you will be able to redeem it.What I'm concerned about is that with the shop still down and with me waiting for the 1AM time where server hits midnight and new skins become available with the store down, that i wont be able to get the Limited time Tryndamere skin, and i might not be able to login tomorrow (today now i guess) due to being overly busy.
Any chance that maybe the Limited skin will be appearing longer or that the support team can retroactively manually assign the skin to players that have missed out on it and remove the appropriate RP (personally i have over 3.5k RP on my account).

To answer some of the questions in this thread:
- We agree with you that it is helpful for you to have context as to what we're doing and why negative service experiences are occurring. We plan on doing a better job of communicating issues going forward.
- This is not the only cause of the service interruptions and we will be providing additional information about the challenges going forward. To provide some context though for those who question our commitment, we have thousands of servers and continually invest millions of dollars in top of the line hardware and infrastructure to grow and improve the service. League of Legends is one of the largest only games in the world (yes, rly) and has grown extremely quickly. Managing this growth is a constant challenge, but we have been working tirelessly to get ahead of the problem and are confident that we will provide you all with the great, stable service that we all want.
We feel your frustration (more than you could imagine) and are constantly working around the clock to improve. Thank you for your continued patience and support.#51 year, 11 months ago
