We recently completed our investigation around highly offensive language used by two Challenger Series players. Below you will find competition rulings related to those events.

League of Legends Competition Ruling

Player: Erlend "Nukeduck" Holm

Region: Europe

Date of Ruling: March 28th, 2014

Subject: Fine; Violation of Challenger Series Rules

Facts

In mid-March, Holm was observed using offensive, racist language in a League of Legends game lobby. LCS and Challenger players are expected to be examples of sportsmanship and respect, and model citizens in and out of game.

Relevant Rules

Section 9.2.9 of the official Challenger ruleset states:

A Team Member may not engage in any activity which is deemed by the CS to be immoral, disgraceful, or contrary to conventional standards of proper ethical behavior.

Ruling

Holm has violated rule 9.2.9 of the Challenger Series Ruleset and will be subject to penalties.

  • Fined $500 USD

Player: Alfonso "mithy" Aguirre Rodriguez

Region: Europe
